Sign in without a password: email codes and passkeys

From Monday October 26th, StellarDock no longer uses passwords. To sign in, enter your email and choose one of:

  • Email me a sign-in code. We email you a short code. Enter it and you're in.

  • Sign in with a passkey. Use your device's fingerprint, face or screen lock, or a security key. No code needed.

  • Continue with Google works as before, if that's how you signed up.

What happens to your old password

Your existing password has been removed from your account. It can no longer be used to sign in, and you'll never be asked for one. You can delete your saved StellarDock password from your browser or password manager.

Authenticator apps are switched off

If you used an authenticator app for two-step sign-in, it's no longer needed. You can remove StellarDock from the app. Passkeys you've already added keep working.

Add a passkey for the fastest sign-in

After you sign in with a code, we'll offer to set one up. You can also add passkeys anytime in your account settings. They're saved by your device or password manager, and you can have more than one.

Also new

  • You stay signed in longer: up to 30 days instead of 5.

  • New accounts sign up with just an email address.

  • Group administrators and group members sign in the same way.

Keep your email secure

A sign-in code goes to your email, so whoever can read your email can sign in to StellarDock. Use a strong password and two-step sign-in on your email account, or add a passkey here.
