"Discovery" telescopes - not defined anywhere
There is no description/definition of “Discovery” Telescopes anywhere. They’re tagged as Discovery: But nowhere is that tag explained. After much searching, the closest I came to an explanation was when I eventually found a description/definition of “Discovery” Credits…you have to click a tiny “i” symbol in Account → Subscription → Balance: This is going to be really hard for new users to find, or understand. Even existing iTelescope users have not seen this “Discovery” terminology before.
Importing plans
I’d like to see support for some kind of text based plan importing like iTelscope could do, importing from telescopius or other services.
Achieving Focus on T72
I have tried to acquire narrowband images with T72 with an almost full moon (about 100 degrees separation from the target) a couple times in the last days. Unfortunately focus failed on both occasions. I know from using T72 on the original platform that the system uses luminance which can be a bit tricky. On at least one other scope I have used (SSO?) I noticed that the software switched to using a red filter for focus if it fails a number of times with Lum. If this is not implemented on T72 would you consider this a potential improvement? As you know narrowband imaging can be successful even with a near full moon if there is acceptable angular separation. Just a thought!
Calibration
I have used T20 and T74 both of which are colour cameras. With T74 the calibration files are 3-channel which I expected, but with T20 they are single channel. I have been able to achieve reasonable results with T20 using Cosmetic Correction to get rid of hot pixels, but why not provide 3-channel Calibration files like you have with T74. The sing channel bias master for T20 is seriously over-exposed which is really strange as it should be readout noise.
Concurrency in downloads
Currently the download system (both zip and direct to folder) only download images one by one, which means it 1. does not utilise my full connection and 2. has downtime between each image. iTelscope’s FTP server allowed me to download concurrently.
Session times out too fast - while waiting for MFA code
The session times out too quickly after the MFA verification code is emailed. 2 out of 3 times, the code didn't reach my mailbox quickly enough (it took 2-3 minutes), and I got “session expired” when I tried to paste in the code. (This delay does not occur with other systems that email a verification code to me). After I got in, I enabled the options to use an authenticator app (LastPass) instead, and a passkey. Those react almost immediately (the passkey is instant; the password + authenticator app combo takes half a minute, with the delay being due to the password checking). But it’s that initial email-based authentication that everyone has to go through, at least once, that has a timing issue.
"Viewing as" selector having more info
I’d love to be able to see more info about how a telescope interacts with a target like the % of frame filled by that target on that specific telescope Also having small preview images like from wikipedia or some other open license source on the discover page would be nice
Plan: Image Repeats
When you create plan with multiple filters it is not clear if repeats are performed together at the same time or as a group of repeats. In this respect the new interface is inferior to iTelescope with an image set then number of image set repeats. The rest of the interface is great. Need clear sky to test the operational side

Reservation Release
Hi, my first reservation, which took up discovery points, didn’t run due to the dome being closed for weather. The points themselves were not released until the following morning, making the points unavailable to me for the rest of the night, and other telescopes at other locations. Can this be changed so that points are released back for the user to make use of as soon as a reservation is discovered to have not run due to any reason? Points should not be held preventing their use if other observing targets are available to the user in other locations with clear skies and available telescopes.
Completion E-mails, Calibration Images
As a bit of a newbie, I was able to successfully run four projects. I was able to find my way around the new platform…by guess and by golly. Two things, which may have already been mentioned. First, there were reservation confirmation emails, but none when the job was completed. Secondly, I was expecting images already calibrated, but received uncalibrated images with darks and flats. I didn’t have any problem incorporating them into my workflow - but did I miss something in the set-up so that I didn’t get the finished product in the same way as iTelescope?
"Discover Targets" issues x3
(1) When a target is selected, the FOV overlay only shows the underlying atlas image when zoomed way out. As one zooms in from this, the image goes black, and stays that way on further zooming. This includes all the usable zoomed in levels. This happens with all telescopes, all atlases, and all targets. The FOV overlay stops growing at this maximum size: …however the FOV number beneath it continues to shrink as you continue to zoom with the mouse wheel (clearly T71 does not have a 0.03 degree FOV! The Aladin logo in the bottom corner suggests you’re running Aladin Lite - https://aladin.cds.unistra.fr/AladinLite/doc/ - but it’s not tapping that resource correctly. (2) https://app.stellardock.net/#/discover needs a “reset all filters” button on the “Deep Sky” tab. (3) The “Asteroids” and “Comets” tabs should behave the same way as the “Deep Sky” tab - i.e. they should list the objects currently visible, and not expect the user to come up with the name/number of a particular one. This is great:
Reservation Successfully Completed Email?
Hi, one thing I am missing dearly from the Stellardock platform is the session completed email. I don’t need the JPEG images like iTelescope’s platform sends, but I would greatly appreciate an email from the platform when the session is completed. That acts as 1) a reminder to pull the data files and 2) a confirmation that the session ran. Thank you for considering this request.

Hello Support,
at T2 the selected object is shown centered in the target editor, but no longer in the captured image. captured image target editor Best Regards Peter
UI Design for New Plan Screen
The UI design being used for the New Plan screen seems to dynamically change size, repositioning objects as if it was a portal. I run a Dell S3222HG Monitor - 32-inch 165Hz Full HD (1920 x 1080) alongside two ASUS VG278HV 27" Full HD 1920x1080 monitors, and the way the screen is presented was confusing. I had to reduce the Chrome window to 1023×911 in order to show all the elements in a stacked flow. A wider browser window made the objects dynamically become side by side. So much is being placed on the screen, and this is not a clean presentation when dynamically altered by window width. The critically important things (such as exposure qty, filter, exposure time and binning was all far below what was easily seen regardless of window width, at the very bottom of the window. I had to scroll down to see it. This information should ideally be on the right side of the screen or at the top of the screen because we’re planning the actions in the New Plan. The target image could be lower and smaller, and the altitude & sky track graphs could be smaller and should always be positioned below all the exposure details. As currently designed, the screen took me far longer to figure out than I expected. I’m probably biased towards the iTelescope Deep Sky Objects Imaging & Planning screen layout, but it seems more logical to follow that simple flow as opposed to jumping around on a screen while having to simultaneously scroll up and down to see what I need while planning a session.
T2 - focusing fails
Hi Support, at 2026-Sep-07 and 2026-Sep-05 I started several image runs to check whether the new point model fits. But none of these 4 sessions are successfull, because of the focusing fails. For all 4 runs a refund was done. Many Greetings Peter

Use more real links or at least query params
One of my main issues with the site is how many “links” are not real links but a javascript click listener that changes the state of the page with no URL or query param change. This means that you can not middle click to open a page in a new tab, which is a big annoyance, and it also completely breaks forward and back navigation. It’s generally considered bad practice to mutate the state like this unless you’re creating an app with it’s own state handling. You can see this “link” is just a button, thus making it impossible for me to open multiple targets at once. Instead of clicking on “M38” and the page mutating but keeping the same app.stellardock.net/#/discover url, it should go to something like https://app.stellardock.net/discover?target=m38 (though in your case, M38’s id is 1912 from NGC so it would be ?target=1912) {"id":1912,"primary_name":"M 38","ra_deg":82.16708333333332,"dec_deg":35.823888888888895,"object_type":"OC","constellation":"Aur","v_mag":6.4,"b_mag":6.69,"surface_brightness":12.59900506019781,"major_axis_arcmin":19.6,"minor_axis_arcmin":19.6,"position_angle":0,"popularity":100,"identifiers":[{"catalog":"Messier","source_id":"38","display":"M 38","is_primary":true},{"catalog":"NGC","source_id":"1912","display":"NGC 1912","is_primary":false}],"window":{"peak_alt_deg":88.08608888888882,"peak_alt_time":"2026-10-19T11:11:40.941Z","transit_time":"2026-10-19T11:11:40.941Z","minutes_visible":185.69451950490475}}
Option not to Download jpg files
In the download options you have the choice to download calibration frames or not (downloading as default). I would suggest the most users probably don’t need JPG files and they are usually deleted to clean up their image directory as most users use an app to review the raw images before stacking. I would add the jpg download as an option under calibration files option. Just a very small suggestion
Telescope metadata
Would be great to see brief info about each telescope (e.g. FL and F ratio) either in-line (in the status row, see screenshot) or when hovering over the name. In the old site, I would constantly tab between the support site and the main interface when trying to identify telescope specs.
T25 File Naming: Include Binning
I have noticed that T25 file names do not include Binning eg (1×1, 2×2). The file size is a giveaway but inclusion of this would be nice.
"Telescopes" pre-selection on the "Discover" page when navigating from a specific telescope
Hi Support, When accessing the "Discover" page from the dashboard, all telescopes are selected by default under the "Telescopes" section—even if I had previously selected a specific telescope. However, in that scenario, I only want to see data relevant to that specific telescope. This means I have to deselect all the other telescopes. While this is manageable right now, if all telescopes were active, I would have to deselect about 21 others. In my point of view it is a bit inefficient. Would it be possible to have the system default to only the previously selected telescope under "Telescopes"—with all others deactivated—when navigating to "Discover" after having already chosen a specific telescope? Many Greetings Peter
Last Image not immediately visible in preview on status page
Hi Support, at T2 I have captured IC5146 to check wether the pointing is meanwhile correct - it is another feedback. By chance I saw that on the T2 status page the “Last Image” was not updated. It’s not IC5146. It shows the image from the run before. With reference to the attached screenshot. Would it be possible to see the really last image in the preview window? Many Greetings Peter
Failed Booked Session does not Delete
I had a session booked for T72 but the roof was closed and the scope offline. I could have cancelled but when it was offline but let it stay to see what happened. The booked session passed but did not delete. Is this because the booking agent cannot talk to the telescope? I would be better if a session does not start for any reason it was deleted and points refunded but perhaps the telescope needed to be online
Mosaic Creation
It would be really good to have mosaic setup mode rather than setting up separate targets to achieve the end result
Name of the captured object not in filename
Hello Support, unfortunately the name of the object which was captured is not part of the filename. With reference to the attached screenshot as example. Many Greetings Peter
Data Access & Naming: Praise & Suggestions
Finally got some data with the new system. (1) Nice to see that the dataset can download as a single tidy zipfile now; whereas on the old FTP system, you got dozens of individual “calibrated-image.fit.zip” files. OTOH, you now have to wait until the end of the session, to assess any FITS file: …the “most recent image” JPG gives a decent preview, so it’s a welcome addition to the interface, but it cannot convey the whole dynamic range & resolution, or the effects of different intensity scalings. ===> So how about releasing only the first FITS file to “My Data” - as soon as it is generated? That’s enough for us to judge whether the data (exposure) is OK to continue, or to kill the run and relaunch the plan with better settings. (2) Another plus: my chosen observing plan name [Ceph_Nebs_T80_Halpha] is the first part of the zipfile name and hence the extracted folder name; whereas on the old FTP system, all you got for the folder was the official name needed to identify the target for pointing the telescope to, which in this case would be the boring HD-catalog star lying midway between the two nebulae I wanted to capture in the same FOV. [Now the images still get that boring name, but at least the folder containing them does not]. But why is the rest of the name a long string of random characters? - Ceph_Nebs_T80_Halpha-01a15bc3-f522-7218-8103-ae8080515d98[.zip] ===> A date-timestamp appended string would be much more useful than 37 characters of gibberish. It could be taken from the first image in the set: “20261021-0217”
